Introduction
One early morning of the year 2088 you, the Citizen of the fledgling city of Enviro, wake up with the feeling that something terrible is going to happen. The weather is getting worse. Seeing the dark clouds gathering in the sky and hearing the howling wind sounds you understand that a huge devastating storm is coming. Again! What is happening? Why do disasters come so often? Why are the trees and animals disappearing? Why are there less and less fish in the oceans, seas and rivers? In a world facing climate crisis and resource shortages you cannot predict what is awaiting Humanity in the nearest future. Things have gone wild. The world is going to an end…
Still Deep in thoughts you come to close the window of your house and notice a scroll hanging from a branch of a tree- the last tree in the city which has survived the horrible hurricane.
Carefully you open the letter which says:
Having read the message you understand the time to act has come.
The world as you know it is on the brink of collapse due to decades of overconsumption and environmental neglect. As an elite eco-detective, responsible citizen and a business and policy maker your mission is to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of vital resources and bring those responsible to justice. You will also need to grow the Enviro into a prosperous and sustainable metropolis. As an entrepreneur in the global marketplace your next mission will be to build a thriving business that prioritizes sustainability and responsible use and consumption of natural resources. Every decision you make and step you take will determine whether the Planet and Enviro will thrive or fall into chaos. Along the way, you will face tough decisions and unravel puzzles that challenge your understanding of sustainability.
Your final mission is to restore balance to a planet on the edge.

Main Goal of The Game
The main goal of the game is to earn as many protection points and badges as possible by completing challenges (mandatory and optional).
The best ones will be awarded the title of “World Multi Eco Protector” which is one of the few committed to making a positive impact on the environment and society through its day-to-day activities.
But to receive this title you must earn a minimum of 2 badges and 240 protect points.
General Rules
The Conscious Consumer’s Journey consists of 3 levels.
Each stage will include specific challenges (mandatory and optional).
You will earn protect points for each challenge and you can also earn the badges.
The best World multi eco protector will be the one with more points and more earned badges.
Here’s what you can get at each level of the journey:
LEVEL 1 - BECOMING AN ECO DETECTIVE
On this level you can earn max 110 Protect points.
- If you reach less than 60 protect points at this level you receive the badge: SILVER ECO DETECTIVE
- If you reach more than 60 protect points at this level you receive the badge: SUPER GOLD ECO DETECTIVE
LEVEL 2 - BUILD THE CITY OF TOMORROW
On this level you can earn max 115 Protect points.
- If you reach less than 70 points at this level you receive the badge: SILVER CITY BUILDER
- If you reach more than 70 points at this level you receive the badge: GOLD CITY BUILDER
LEVEL 3 - THE GLORIES AND SHADOWS OF THE GLOBAL MARKETPLACE - WHAT KIND OF PLAYER ARE YOU?
On this level you can earn max 109 Protect points.
- If you reach less than 60 points at this level you receive the badge : SILVER MARKETING MANAGER
- If you reach more than 60 points at this level you receive the badge : SUPER GOLD MARKETING MANAGER
Challenges
Below you will find a list of the mandatory and additional challenges along with the maximum number of points to be scored for each challenge that await you at each level. How many points you earn is up to you!.
You will receive access to the challenges in due course from the game leader with information on the time you have to complete them.
LEVEL 1 – BECOMING AN ECO DETECTIVE
Are you ready to embark on a thrilling adventure to save our planet?
In this game, you’ll step into the shoes of an Eco Detective, solving environmental mysteries and uncovering the truth behind harmful practices.
INVESTIGATION OF A CRIME SCENE.
MANDATORY – Max 40 PROTECT POINTS.
A set of 4 questions about solving the mystery of an illegal dumping site.
Each question and correct answer will earn you 10 points. You can get a total 40 Protect points.
EXAMINING THE WASTE AND TRACING THE SOURCE.
MANDATORY -Max 30 PROTECT POINTS.
You will need to examine various waste items found at a crime scene and trace them to the appropriate bins and also explain.
For each correct answer-match you will receive 1 point+ 1 point for explanation of the hazard or benefit of the waste item from the table – max 20 Protect Points.
SUSTAINABLE AWARENESS QUIZ.
MANDATORY – Max 20 PROTECT POINTS.
Now when you know all about waste and sources of its origin, it’s time to look deeper into the threats of human activities to Earth. Challenge yourself by answering the questions of .
Quiz about being environmentally educated citizens and responsible consumers.
For each correct answer to a question the student will receive 2 points.
SMALL ACTS BIG EFFECT.
OPTIONAL – Max 20 PROTECT POINTS.
You already know what the 17 Sustainable Development Goals are. So it’s time for a challenge. For your chosen 5 sustainable development goals, write 4 examples of actions that you as you – at your age, in your environment – can take to help create a better friendly world.
For each concrete example you receive 2 points.
LEVEL 2 – BUILD THE CITY OF TOMORROW
Are you ready to design and build the city of tomorrow and go in to the role of visionary city planner tasked with creating a sustainable, eco-friendly metropolis, that thrives today and for generations to come.
You’ll make critical decisions so roll up your sleeves and get ready to transform your ideas into reality. Let’s create a better world together!
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT CHALLENGE – WORD SEARCH PUZZLE.
MANDATORY – Max 40 PROTECT POINTS.
Get ready to dive into the world of sustainable resource management with this engaging word search puzzle. In this activity, you’ll hunt for words related to efficient use of resources, waste reduction, and eco-friendly practices.
You will get: 1 point for each found word out of 20 + 1 point for each explained word out of 20=Max 40 Protect points.
PROFICIENCY INTERVIEW – ANSWERING THE FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS.
MANDATORY -Max 20 PROTECT POINTS.
To demonstrate your understanding of resource management on the way to becoming a Sustainable City Developer, you will need to pass a proficiency interview which consists of 8 questions concerning Renewable Resources, Waste Management, Conservation and Efficiency, Sustainability.
For the question you can get 2 or 3 points – it depends on the question – max 20 Protect Points.
SUSTAINABILITY FROM AROUND THE WORLD.
MANDATORY – Max 30 PROTECT POINTS.
Now when you have enough knowledge about resource management you might want to hear and learn about the cities leading the way in sustainability. Challenge yourself by reading the text and summarizing the characteristics that make these cities sustainable. There are 10 examples of characteristics that make the cities sustainable. How many can you find? After you have found all the examples, try to explain why these activities are important.
3 points each complete answer (1 point per example+ 2 points per explanation)- max 30 Protect Points.
ECO INVESTIGATION!
OPTIONAL – Max 25 PROTECT POINTS.
Now you know what a sustainable city means and how important the sustainable policies are. What about your city or country? Are there any solutions being taken for sustainable development in the place where you live? Who is there to find out, if not you? We all need to know where we live and what is happening around us. So, stretch your awareness and find up to 5 sustainable policies/ development examples and describe and explain what they are about and what they aim to do.
You will get 2 points for each example+3 points for explanation – max 25 Protect Points.
LEVEL 3 – THE GLORIES AND SHADOWS OF THE GLOBAL MARKETPLACE – WHAT KIND OF PLAYER ARE YOU?
As an entrepreneur in the global marketplace, your student’s mission is to build a thriving business that prioritizes sustainability and responsible consumption.
Students will navigate the challenges of ethical sourcing, production, and marketing while influencing consumers to make better choices.
WHAT IS GLOBAL MARKETING?
MANDATORY – Max 20 PROTECT POINTS.
Your task is: pick up from the video information about International marketing and write examples connected with international marketing strategies.
There are 10 questions X 2 points=Max 20 Protect points.
STEPS TO LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT.
MANDATORY -Max 20 PROTECT POINTS.
To focus on the concept of responsible purchasing you will be tasked to assess clothing items and explore where things come from and where things go to make connections between product choices and social, economic and environmental impacts.
There are 10 questions. Each answered question will be awarded 2 points -max 20 protect points.
LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT CHALLENGE.
MANDATORY – Max 30 PROTECT POINTS.
For this challenge, You will need to bring for a Life cycle research a product you use every day. One of these might be: Toothpaste, toothbrush, face cream, washing-up liquid, cell phone, soap, towel, lipstick, key or key ring, charging cable, water flask, a perfume bottle, etc.
You will research the life cycle of a chosen product you use every day.
Once you have picked a product, you will need to fill out the Life cycle analysis worksheet containing 13 observation questions.
There are 13 questions x3 points each= max 39 Protect Points.
CREATION ART AND CRAFTS USING SECOND-HAND TEXTILE.
OPTIONAL – Max 30 PROTECT POINTS.
In this challenge, you have a chance to create a recycling workshop where the final result will be a picture about Nature/ connected with Nature, concerning Nature, etc. and (obligatory!) made from second-hand clothes or other kinds of second-hand textile material. This challenge is a creative task.
For Finished and Framed Piece of Art you can get max 30 protect points.
FINISH LINE
The protect points you earn will translate into the final mark you receive for your actions in the game.
